Childminding

As part of the Quality Awareness Programme for Childminders, the Office of the Minister for Children and Youth Affairs under the National Childcare Investment Programme (2006-2010) has introduced a Childminding Development Grant. This grant is available for Childminders to assist with the purchase of toys and/or educational materials, safety equipment or to make minor household improvements to enhance the quality and safety of childminding services to children and families. The maximum amount available is €1,000.00 or up to 90% of the total incurred cost. The childminder will be responsible for a remainder 10% cost of the project.
