Information for Parents

  1. What is the Community Childcare Subvention (CCS) Programme?

The Community Childcare Subvention Programme (CCS) is a support programme for community-based childcare services to provide quality childcare services at a reduced rate to parents. It is a programme which enables Community Childcare Services to give parents in receipt of certain social welfare payments, and holders of medical cards and GP visit cards, a reduction in their childcare fees.

The CCS programme allows eligible parents to access reduced childcare costs at participating community childcare services. The Subvention Rates table outlines the weekly subvention rates for Band A / AJ and Band B. The list is not exhaustive; where clarification is required please contact us.

  1. How do I access a place?

If you are a parent and would like to participate in the CCS programme, you must apply to take part in it from the beginning of the school year (i.e. September). You can do this by completing a Parental Declaration form for CCS, which you will get from community childcare facilities that are offering the programme.
